We often get asked if our Healthy Hydrating Moisturiser contains an SPF. We did think about it, but because we're big believers in natural skincare and it's super hard to find a 'natural' SPF that actually works to protect the skin properly, we decided against it.
We could have used Zinc as a 'natural suncream', but it causes a white cast on darker skin meaning it's not suitable for all skin tones.
Our Healthy Hydrating Moisturiser has a rich post-biotic complex that's jam packed with skin soothing, antioxidant-rich properties. It actively works to balance the skin, reduce acne and soothe dryness. If we were to add an SPF into the mix, it would reduce the benefits oF our already active moistisuer and would potentially change the way it sits and feels on your skin.
We believe in products that do their jobs well. A moisturiser should prep, hydrate and balance the skin where as an SPF needs to focus on protecting your skin from the sun and that's it. And, because you need to reapply your SPF every 2 hours (approx) it's far better to just apply an SPF not a moisturiser too.
With that said here are some of our FAVE SPF's to use this summer that work amazingly with our products to protect your skin on beach days, pool days and sunny days in between...
Ultra Violette:
We're obsessed with this Aussie brand. Aussie's do suncream better than everyone else which is why we trust these guys to protect our skin. Their formulas are light but feel hydrating, leave your skin perfected, protected and safe in the sun. We recommend pairing their SPF 50+ Hydrating Facial Suncream with My Skin Feels Moisturised.
Supergoop:
US brand Supergoop has taken the world by storm. With innovation at the core of the brand, they have extended their collection into jumbo sizes that are perfect for the whole family.
Vacation Inc:
Ok we LOVE this brand for their story as well as their super effective products. Modeled on 1970's 'sun culture', their SPF is fun, innovative and super protective. Our favorite is their Classic Whipped suncream that looks and feels like whipped cream, but soaks into your skin in a flash leaving it protected against the sun all day long.
Seventy-One:
Seventy-One makes suncreams without parabens, oxybenzone and nanoparticles. Their products are perfect for sensitive skin and safe for kids of all ages. Sometimes we need a little SPF on the go, their sun sticks are handbag friendly and can be applied on top of our Healthy Hydrating Moisturiser all over, or on sun sensitive patches such as melasma and hyperpigmentation.
